The Stables Motel is proudly locally owned by people who believe in Bulls and the Rangitīkei - because this special part of New Zealand deserves accommodation to match: welcoming, comfortable, and thoughtfully done.
With strong local roots and real motelling experience, we’ve created a place for travellers to relax, recharge, and experience the region properly. Built by locals, for locals and visitors alike, The Stables reflects a genuine connection to the land and its people.
The Stables Motel offers 15 well-appointed units, including three one-bedroom units that can open into adjoining studios—perfect for larger groups wanting extra space while still having their own setup. Twin-share options also make it easy for those travelling separately to stay together comfortably.
We also have three dedicated motorhome parks, complete with access to a guest kitchen, BBQ area, free laundry, shared bathrooms, and reliable WiFi.
Motorhome travellers can pull in, power up, empty tanks, get the washing sorted, cook a meal, and take a short stroll into town for a bite to eat—easy, practical, and all in one place.
From couples and families to work crews and motorhome travellers, there’s a space for everyone. Our fully accessible units are unique and designed with care, offering practical features like caregiver beds and easy-access layouts to ensure a comfortable, inclusive stay.
Right on State Highway 1, we’re perfectly placed for those heading to Wellington, the central North Island, or across to Taranaki via State Highway 3—while also being an ideal base to explore the wider Rangitīkei and Manawatū.
Your hosts, Steve and Jackie Clark, are proud Kiwis with strong ties to the region, offering a warm, down-to-earth welcome.
Stay a night or settle in a little longer—either way, you’ll be met with genuine Kiwi hospitality. So put your hooves up and make yourself at home.
